For this redesign, I looked at what made Returnal stand out to me as a player. This meant looking into what cosmic horror and action could really sound like. To achieve this, I created more sound from synthesizers than any other project I have ever worked on. Frequency shifters, ring modulators, flangers, delays and reverbs are all how I represented the unearthly creatures and attacks seen throughout the game.
